Meet The Doctors

Dr. Melanie Wilson Hartman

Dr. Hartman is a 2000 graduate of the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. She complemented her dental education with resident training in General Practice and Hospital Dentistry at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. Although she was the daughter of a United States Air Force pilot who was transferred frequently, Dr. Hartman graduated from Lake Braddock Secondary School in 1992. She then went on to earn a B.S. in Biological Science from the Florida State University.
 
Dr. Hartman is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, the Board of the Virginia Dental Services Corporation, and the Northern Virginia Dental Society, where she served as a member of the Patient Relations Committee and the Peer Review Committee, and currently serves as the Society’s President. In addition to participating in monthly continuing education sessions sponsored by the NVDS, Dr. Hartman has also pursued postgraduate studies with the Dawson Academy and participated in Dental Oral Conscious Sedation (DOCS) seminars. She is a DOCS member and is certified in the Commonwealth of Virginia to perform the single-drug oral conscious sedation protocol.
 
Dr. Hartman is regularly recognized as one of the best dentists in Washington D.C. and Northern Virginia by Washingtonian MagazineNorthern Virginia Magazine and Virginia Living. 
 
Dr. Hartman lives in Alexandria with her husband Joseph, a professor in the Department of Government at Georgetown University and a 1992 graduate of Robinson Secondary School. When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Hartman enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Dr. Erika A. Anderson

Dr. Anderson is a double graduate of Creighton University College of Arts and Sciences with a B.S. in Biology and School of Dentistry with a D.D.S.  Dr. Anderson is from North Dakota and fell in love with the Northern Virginia area after multiple educational experiences in Washington, D.C.  One of her favorite experiences was as a congressional intern in the office of Senator Kent Conrad.  Since graduation, she has been practicing general dentistry in Northern Virginia.
 
Dr. Anderson is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, and the Northern Virginia Dental Society.  Continuing her education is very important to Dr. Anderson, as she has completed over 500 hours of continuing education, including programs at the Dawson Academy, the Kois Center, and the Spear Education Center, and is currently a member of the Spear Study Club.  She recently was given the honor of being elected by her peers at the Virginia Dental Association to serve as the Speaker for the House of Delegates, as well as serving as the Vice President of the Northern Virginia Dental Society.  Dr. Anderson was also recently awarded her Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. 
 
In her free time, Dr. Anderson enjoys reading, and spending time with her family and friends.

Dr. James L. Gyuricza

January 30, 1949 – September 5, 2021

We will miss you, our friend.

Dr. Gyuricza is a 1974 graduate of Georgetown University’s School of Dentistry. He continued his education with an advanced training General Practice Residency program at the Veterans Administrative Hospital in Washington, DC.

Dr. Gyuricza is past president of the Northern Virginia Dental Society and the Fairfax County Dental Society. He is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, the Virginia Dental Association, and the American College of Dentists and a Fellow of the International College of Dentists.

He is an active member of the American Dental Association. He is also a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of Osseointegration and the Implant Society of Northern Virginia.

Dr. Gyuricza’s experience, his dedication to the dental profession, and his continual training in cosmetic dentistry has gained him the respect of the community.  Dr. Gyuricza’s post graduate studies at the Pankey and Dawson Center have helped him become one of the best dentists in the Washington D.C. area as selected in the following magazines:

Dr. Gyuricza is married and has two children and six grandsons.
